OrCam MyEye has been creating unprecedented levels of interest all around the world. Anyone who has struggled to read printed information has for the first time been able to have that information read to them, at home, at work, while studying or while out and about shopping, dining or using public transport. Instant access to information wherever you are!
That’s quite an achievement; to help millions of people around the world read again. Well our friends at OrCam in Israel have not been resting. They have just released a new version that takes something amazing, and makes it even better.
OrCam MyEye 2.0 is now much smaller with no cable or separate control box. In fact it has been reduced to about the size of a finger (pictured at right, it is smaller than a watch and a fraction of the size of a mobile phone).
OrCam MyEye 2.0 also introduces a new way of mounting the device to your spectacles. A simple magnetic clasp can be placed on either the left hand or right hand side of your frames. OrCam MyEye simply clicks into place.
Many of the existing OrCam MyEye features such as facial recognition have been enhanced and new features added, like the ability to read barcodes on products. This gives you access to around 200,000 products on the shelves of stores all around Australia.
OrCam MyEye has been designed for anyone of any age who is blind or has low vision, or struggles to read for any reason including dyslexia, stroke victims, acquired brain injury and many other conditions.
